Composition:

• Metformin 500 mg (Prolonged Release)
• Glimepiride 1 mg (SMART Tablets)

Description:
Pridevin M1 is a combination of Metformin and Glimepiride in a SMART tablet formulation designed to effectively manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. This prolonged-release combination provides continuous blood glucose control by combining the glucose-lowering effects of Metformin with the insulin-secreting stimulation of Glimepiride.

Indications:
Pridevin M1 is indicated for:

• Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults.
• Improvement of glycemic control in patients inadequately controlled on Metformin or Glimepiride alone.
• Adjuvant therapy for lifestyle modifications and diet to achieve better blood sugar control.

Mechanism of Action:

• Metformin: Works by decreasing hepatic glucose production and increasing insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues, leading to improved glucose uptake and utilization.
• Glimepiride: A sulfonylurea that stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin, thereby lowering blood glucose levels.

Dosage and Administration:

• The usual starting dose is one SMART tablet daily, preferably taken with the morning meal to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.
• The dosage may be adjusted based on individual patient response and blood glucose levels, with a maximum daily dose of 2,000 mg of Metformin and 4 mg of Glimepiride.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to Metformin, Glimepiride, or any component of the SMART tablet.
• Severe renal impairment or significant liver dysfunction.
• Type 1 diabetes mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Warnings and Precautions:
