Precautions
Healthcare Professionals:
- Cardiovascular Risk: Etoricoxib may increase the risk of cardiovascular events (e.g., heart attack, stroke) in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease or risk factors. Monitor patients closely for signs and symptoms of cardiovascular events.
- Gastrointestinal Bleeding: Etoricoxib may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding, especially in patients with a history of ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, or those taking other medications that may increase this risk. Monitor patients for signs and symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Renal Impairment: Use with caution in patients with impaired renal function. Monitor renal function regularly, especially in patients with underlying renal disease.

- Drug Interactions: Be aware of potential drug interactions with etoricoxib, especially with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), anticoagulants, and antiplatelet agents.
- Opioid Use: Etoricoxib may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding when used with opioids.
Patients:
- Inform Your Doctor: Inform your doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or medications you are taking.
- Monitor for Symptoms: Be aware of signs and symptoms of cardiovascular events (e.g., chest pain, shortness of breath) and gastrointestinal bleeding (e.g., blood in stool, vomiting blood).
